Our "SCRUB NURSE" will appreciate this new "Surgical Back Table". The "Scrub Nurse" keeps the items immediately needed on the "MAYO Stand", then as required, the "Scrub Nurse" can select additional instrument packs, or replenish supplies, sponges, suture, from the backup items on the "Surgeons' Back Table" shown here. The "Scrub Nurse" would normally be standing somewhat near the INSIDE "V" curve of the "Surgeons' Back Table". The "Scrub Nurse" never allows their "Surgical Gown" (they are wearing) to touch against the "Surgical Back Table". |

This "Surgical Instrument Preparation Table" will speed our "CMS Technicians" as they assemble instrument packs for "Sterilization" in our "Autoclaves". This table is NOT located in the "Operating Room" itself; rather it is sited within a closely adjoining room (with an "Instrument Prep Sink", "Autoclave(s)", and "Sterile Item Storage Cabinets", etc., with a door separating it from the ultimate standard of cleanliness desirable in the "Operating Room" proper. However, the Kids' standards of medical cleanliness in all portions of their Hospital, is so excellent, that it is difficult to note any deficiencies anywhere. The "CMS" area (Central Material Supply) achieves a very close "second place" in the cleanliness contest won by our "Operating Rooms" (also called "Surgical Suites", which may have more than one "Operating Room"). |
