Close up, of Major AUDIE LEON MURPHY, wearing his "Congressional Medal Of Honor, U.S. ARMY version, awarded at age 19, for actions during WW2. MURPHY, a "Christian American Irishman", was the most medal "decorated" Soldier of ANY American Citizens in military service during WW2. MURPHY wanted to continue after the War as Active Duty U.S. ARMY, but was blocked from this desire, because of a serious bullet wound ("Purple Heart" Medal awarded) in his hip, during combat. MURPHY returned to America, to STAR in numerous Hollywood Movies. See his story, in the Movie legendary "To Hell And Back". |
