The United States of America WW2 Tank named the "M5 STUART" (after U.S. Civil War Cavalry General JEB STUART). It was relatively lightly armored, but well armed for its size, with one 37mm Cannon, and three .30 Browning Machineguns. Rather than stupidly using it to box it out with the German "Panther" and "Tiger" tanks, command choose wisely to use it rather to provide excellent in close support for Infantry and Paratrooper units. It served as sort of a mobile armored artillery gun, clearing out many an enemy "machinegun nest", "pillbox" and "bunker", and offered some degree of "air defense" against enemy fighters trying to "strafe" your infantrymen with aerial cannons and machineguns. Preventing loss of life of many a U.S. Soldier, The "M5 Stuart" proved itself to be a very worthy little Fighter! That's why it is here! |
