We are looking into the chromed lined "breech" of the barrel of one of our "57 mm Recoilless Rifles". A gun crew of 2 of our excellent Korean War "American Veterans" is loading in a shell of ammunition, which he had inside our Ammunition Crate for ten rounds of 57mm HEAT-T ammo. "HEAT-T" meaning "High Explosive Anti-Tank, with Tracer". Just like the "75mm Recoilless Rifle", the "57mm Recoilless Rifle" was used extensively during WW2, and with as much expertise, during "The Korean War", and "The Viet Nam War" by American forces of the United States of America. The "57mm Recoilless Rifle" offers great penetration against armored vehicles and enemy fortified structures, and can be fired from the shoulder of one gunner, assisted by an ammo bearer, who also serves to protect the gunner and his heavy weapon, and as an observor, helping the gunner pick out appropriate targets. |
